What some of our clients have said about us

Poole Council for Voluntary Service

“Poole Council for Voluntary Service is a charity which supports other local charities and voluntary groups with their work. Many of the organisations we support have turnovers of between £25,000 and £500,000 and employ staff. However they cannot afford to employ staff with a specific Human Resources role; as a result this is an issue they regularly need our support with.

Fortunately, Michelle Scanlan-Sanson of SSC Consulting volunteered her time to help us in meeting this need, specifically by holding two HR surgeries in July last year. Michelle advised seven organisations, who in turn are delivering a variety of services for disadvantaged people in our communities, including transport services for disabled/older people, a pre school, support services for isolated older people, carers and people with mental health needs.

The organisations wanted help with a variety of issues, including: how to implement appraisal/staff supervision processes, motivating staff and managing their performance, redundancies and pensions; managing sickness and disciplinary processes.

All the organisations said that they were very satisfied with Michelle’s advice (the highest rating) and all confirmed that they were more confident in tackling the issue they had sought help with. In their feedback they also identified ways in which their organisation had developed as a result of Michelle’s support, including the implementation of new policies and more regular staff meetings, supervision sessions and appraisals.

Not only has Michelle helped these organisations with their HR issues, but in doing so the organisations have become stronger and are delivering more effective services to vulnerable people. We are very appreciative of her commitment, skills and flexibility.

Poole CVS would recommend Michelle for her comprehensive knowledge of HR issues and also for her ability to communicate this expertise and adapt it to a variety of organisations with differing needs.” – Christopher Beale, Chief Executive Officer

Delta Partnership

“Hope you are well. Just to say that the retreat went really well. The survey results were shared and analysed and we set up the action group as you suggested. It really made a difference to people knowing that we had hired you, that you did such a thorough job and that there is a mechanism in place for follow-up. Without that confidence in you – and in us – the event would have gone very differently. Thank you.”

Fernheath Play

“Dear Michelle, just to say a very big “Thank You” to you both for your invaluable advice on H.R and related issues at Fernheath.

The directors greatly appreciate the help and support you gave us over 5 months pro bono when we were having to make transformational decisions. It was very helpful to have your objective professional assessment of our situation and suggestions as to possible options and necessary procedures to follow.

Best wishes for a Happy Christmas and thank you again from Paddy ,on behalf of all the directors.”

OTT Technology

“During 2013 we were looking for funding for a new business project. We worked closely with Michelle to produce a very complex and strong application for funding.

Without Michelle’s knowledge and understanding of the funding process we would not have got this project completed. Not only did Michelle explain the process to us in easy to understand detail, but she also had to get to know our business and product in a very short space of time. It is a testament to her skills and professionalism that she was able to deliver on time the necessary funding application.

On behalf of everyone at OTT I’d like to thank you for your hard work and I look forward to working with you again in the very near future”. – Steve Woolley, Director

“Just before Easter I found a grant funding programme on www.innovateuk.org which I thought we should be eligable for, of course like all these things the deadline was about to close. I got in contact with Lucy due to her Tender / Funding writing expertise and she was able to confirm that we met the eligability criteria and that it was worthwhile putting a proposal together.

Due to Easter bank holidays we had effectively 4 days to complete the process and Lucy did a great job of making sure we provided all the information in the application that would be required.

We look forward to the judging process and we should find out if we are successful by June”. – Trevor Clarke BSc (hons), MCMI, Director www.chittak.co.uk
